Update on the Biel life

8 mei 2016 - Biel, Zwitserland

Exactly three months ago today I first arrived in Biel, not knowing what to expect and barely understanding any German. It is safe to say that it is not the language I am most talented at, but I just keep trying, with hope I will conquer this complicated language.

A couple of weeks ago my grandparents came to visit for a weekend, the weekend where I probably saw the most of Switzerland I have seen so far in one day. As my grandmother used to live in Bern and Interlaken when she was my age, we revisited all her old working places. It was pretty cool that I was able to see the places from her stories in real life <3 Of course we ate fondue again and ate pizza at an Italian place, which we later found out turned into a night club in the evenings…

I also finally joined a gym; where I now practice Thai kickboxing, fit boxing, boxing and cardio circuit training. A lot I know, but I already love it, which made me realize how much I actually missed sports. This six-pack better come soon!

Everything is finally blooming and the weather is lovely (I try to ignore the pollen allergies). Entire days tanning by the lake this past weekend seemed more like a holiday. It is these days where the culture difference between Groningen and Biel becomes quite apparent, but I enjoy how laid back and relaxed the people here seem.

I still have three full, busy months here in Biel and four before I move to the apartment on the beach in Almeria.

Heel mooi verhaal, Elies. En we vonden het echt de moeite waard om te zien waar je woont en werkt in Biel.
    Liefs opa/oma
